Elemental Vampirism
Elemental Vampirism is a seldom talked about branch of Vampirism. It falls under Pranic Vampirism or Energy Vampirism. An elemental vampire is someone who feeds off of nature and the elements such as earth, water, air, and fire. Let it be said that our Universe has all of these things, so people may also be feeding off of the ambient energy of the Universe. A heightened or over-anxious state can be produced by feeding from severe climatic events or changes, such as hurricanes, fires, floods or even thunderstorms. An elemental vampire feeds off of these very basic and nurturing energies. These sources are very abundant and inexhaustible and can be found virtually anywhere you look.
Elemental Vampirism usually incorporates a lot of energy working practices, such as grounding and centering. For those people who are Pranic vampires but always get mixed results when feeding off of people, you might want to further delve into the realm of “nature feeding.” The feed is always clean, always abundant, and there isn't a need to filter. It's possible to feed just off of a slight breeze of wind with nothing more than a deep inhalation.
Feeding off of people is also more exhausting; sometimes people hold on too tightly to their energy and you may wind up getting very little in your feeding session. Elemental feeding also bypasses the need for consent when it comes to human ethics. Having said that, there is always an inherent need to thank nature for what it gives to you, let us not be greedy.
When pursuing something that is new to you, always approach it with a wary eye. It may not suit you, it may not coincide with your belief system, and never let anyone push you into something that is not your own. Do your own research, make your own discoveries so that when you find something you'll know for a fact that it's what fits you like a glove. Part of doing this is studying all belief systems, not just Vampirism.
I think everyone on this earth has a link to mother nature; no doubt we all have a link to Nature, I will not deny that one iota. Some people would argue that "Prana" is totally different from the five elements. To help clearly define the use of those words, the label "prana" is assigned to help differentiate between people who feed off of energy (pranic) versus people who feed off of blood (sanguine). Those labels are not in place because they're an exact description of the "type" of energy feeding, they're there for simple explanations; i.e. you can say "toad" when you see one, but are you going to blurt out "Bufo Woodhousii" when you're walking with someone doesn't know toads?
Elemental Vampirism is something that you know in the core of your being; loving nature and Elemental Vampirism are VERY different things. I can be open-minded and concede that this "vampirism" is self induced through a mind body connection I established in order to become more self aware. Not only do I concede that, I concede that I may even be schizotypal, though I would posit that the same could be made to apply to anyone with spiritual or metaphysical beliefs. I identify as a vampire because so far the concept of energy vampirism best describes my experiences. If something else came along that explained it more fully or was more apt, I could easily revise my theory on how I self-identify.
People are often interested in the evidence to support supposed energy vampirism. The only shred of solid evidence I can offer other than my own experiences is being diagnosed with "Idiopathic Hypersomnia." It's a physical manifestation of something that may or may not be a part of my "vampirism." Then comes the question, how is it evidence of my "vampirism" when it may or may not be a part of said "vampirism?” If I tried to make it evidence of anything other than itself then my observations cease to be science and turn to speculation. The house is on fire. There is a burnt match next to the front door. The east wall is melted. We can stipulate conclusions but those conclusions may be wholly untrue or may lack the evidence we really need to form a firm theory. I can call out my experiences but identifying them without learning more isn't just unscientific, it's foolhardy. "Idiopathic Hypersomnia" is an actual diagnosable medical problem. Vampirism is still seen as Metaphysical, we have no scientific means of measuring or "proving" Metaphysics; the same way Theoretical Science is accepted but still "unproven." I feed on Pranic energy, specifically Elemental energies: Of or relating to the Earth and it's elements.
If we take in our hand any volume, of divinity or school metaphysics for instance, let us ask: Does it contain any abstract reasoning concerning quantity or number? No. Does it contain any experimental reasoning concerning matter of fact and existence? No. Commit it then to the flames, for it can contain nothing but sophistry and illusion. I'd have to say that this is more than some passing solipsistic fad. There are observable reactions that are repeatable through experimentation. The skeptic mind must approach the results of these experiments with the usual objectivity, ensuring that we don't simply support our predetermined conclusions, but the question of "What DOES cause these observable changes?" has still as of yet to be answered definitively, leaving the metaphysical in the same realm as quantum theory.
Here's where it gets tricky, Metaphysics, by definition can not be experimented on, as it is a field of science that studies the unobservable. They are theories that are "not fallible, testable or provable statements." It should be understood that metaphysics is not exactly a science and has little to no acceptance within the Science community.
"Metaphysics" is simply an umbrella term to refer to the unexplained phenomena that humans have been observing and interacting with for thousands of years. Just as Chemistry was once Alchemy and Physics was once Magic our new understanding of the subtle interactions between mind, body and our environment will too one day evolve into a "real" science. All science is the product of questioning the known. I would never argue that what we observe is evidence, evidence of WHAT is the question.
Now, again, I am referring to something which was poorly understood, and thus, was rationalized as best it could be. It is a bit ironic that I believe metaphysics would one day be an actual science, since it would mean setting science back by over a century. Scientific discoveries tend to be an understanding of a phenomena in chemical or physical terms. Not spiritual. I don't expect metaphysics itself to become a real science any more than I expect alchemy to become a real science. What I expect is that over time our understanding of the reasoning behind this phenomenon will evolve and a new science may be born of it. I'm well aware that metaphysics as it stands now has no scientific leg to stand on. Most of what we observe can be chalked up to psychological phenomena and the like. I simply think that one day it will evolve as other disciplines have.
If metaphysical energy exists we have to consider its proliferation in the universe. Metaphysical energy may only exist around beings that have the capacity to think and feel, or, if it's omnipresent in the universe, it's frequency or intensity may change around thinking or feeling beings. As I identify as an elemental vampire, however, I do indeed try to direct the energy of the universe to myself. I am an energy worker, first and foremost, and I am also a pranic vampire. My sources are not human beings, my sources are what the earth offers, what nature offers, and what exists all around us.
That is what Elemental Vampirism is.
